Software Engineer (f/m/d) - Rust, Kubernetes, Open Source
At Stackable we believe that the future of software development is open source. That's why we've made it our mission to make it as easy as possible to build and operate scalable open source data and streaming infrastructures for event processing, machine learning (ML) and AI with open source products. Modern DevOps concepts, such as a consistent Infrastructure-as-Code approach, enable companies of all sizes to easily integrate and manage their data platforms in their respective IT infrastructure - be it in their own data center or in the cloud.
What you can expect from us:- Development of software components for the Stackable Data Platform, which is used to create software distributions for data platforms
- Independent work in a dedicated team with many opportunities to help shape our product and our company
- Active participation in our own open source projects as well as collaboration with other projects in the open source community
- Quality-driven software development (clean code, unit testing, CI/CD) in Rust, Java and Python
- Development of modern Big Data architectures for use in customer data centers and/or in the cloud
- Several years of practical experience in software development with Rust (ideally), Java or Python
- Experience with cloud-native technologies such as containerization and Kubernetes as a software developer
- Hands-on experience working with modern, scalable data platforms or Big Data software such as Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Apache Hadoop, Apache HBase, Apache Hive, Apache Nifi, Elasticsearch
- The Linux Shell, SSH, Git among others are an integral part of your toolstack
- Enthusiasm for new technologies and topics relating to Linux, Kubernetes, Cloud, Big Data and ML Engineering
- Fluent German and English skills
- Collaboration with an international team (based in Germany, UK and Sweden)
